Uchal Festival
The summer time Kailash festival in Chitral Valley is referred as Uchal. The festival is observed every year in August during the annual harvest by singing, dancing, and thanking nature for providing people with wholesome food and fruit. To mark the holiday, the Kailash people make cornmeal, buttermilk, and cheese and dance in a circle while donning their customary black robes, elaborate cowries shell headdresses, and vibrant necklaces.
